Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt was a civilisation that flourished along the Nile River in northeast Africa for more than 3,000 years. It is one of the oldest civilisations in the world and the first to develop writing. The ancient Egyptians were a people who dedicated their lives to the gods and to the preservation of their society. They constructed massive burial tombs and impressive temples to honour their leaders and saints. They also developed a sophisticated economy and created many great works of art which this tag page displays.
