Japan’s Emperor Akihito To Abdicate – The Country’s First in Two Centuries

Due to ill health, Emperor Akihito has decided to abdicate (possibly in 2018) and Japan’s government has passed a special law to allow it – but only for him. He will likely be succeeded by his eldest son, Naruhito.
